SMQHA
The Southern Maryland Quarter Horse Association (SMQHA) is a 501(c)(5) non-profit organization founded in 1969 and works to promote the American Quarter Horse in the State of Maryland.




SMQHA is lead by a board of directors and a committee of horse enthusiast who are dedicated to making this organization a success; Our association relies on membership dues, fundraisers, donations and the support or our sponsorships. We welcome anyone interested in sharing good times and supporting the All American Quarter Horse.




During the year SMQHA sponsors a newsletter, has an all breed fun show as well as the Suntan Circuit Show & Futurity.




Not only do we promote the American Quarter Horse, SMQHA also provides terrific opportunities for our youth. Young people who participate in horse related activities gain valuable life experiences, learn responsibility, and leadership skills.  Each year SMQHA sends a nationally qualified youth team to compete at the all American Quarter Horse Congress, which is the largest quarter horse show in the country.
